How To Activate
The first step is downloading FordPass from the App Store on your smartphone. Then, when your Ford vehicle is turned off, click “Add” to connect it to the app. Simply scan or type in the vehicle identification number (VIN). This can be found on the driver’s side door jamb, inside the glove compartment, on the right-hand dash panel, or the top left-hand side of the frame.
After you add your VIN, you will be prompted to name your vehicle. Select “Activate Vehicle” before starting your vehicle and selecting “Allow” on the in-vehicle pop-up. If you have any issues getting it set up, just call the FordGuides service line at (800) 392-3673.
FordPass Connect Remote Features
Once you’ve linked your vehicle with the app, you’ll enjoy easy access to a wide variety of remote features! Check out these capabilities:

Which Ford Vehicles Have FordPass Connect?
There are two ways to determine if your vehicle is eligible for FordPass services:
- Check your vehicle’s window sticker. If equipped, you will see FordPass Connect/SYNC Connect.
- Use your vehicle’s SYNC screen. Tap “Settings,” then “Select Vehicle.” If your modem is not activated, it will appear as Onboard Modem Serial Number (ESN).
These Ford vehicles are equipped with FordPass Connect:
- 2017 models – Escape, Fusion and Fusion Hybrid, F-150, GT Supercar
- 2018 models – EcoSport, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Fusion and Fusion Hybrid, Mustang
- 2019 models – EcoSport, Edge, Escape, Expedition, Explorer, F-150, Fusion, Mustang, Ranger, Super Duty, Transit Connect
All 2020 and newer Ford models are eligible for FordPass, but the modem equipment will be based on your vehicle’s trim level.
