The 2025 Explorer lineup offers four trims:

• ST: A high-performance trim with the most powerful engine option and sporty design touches.

Pricing starts at $39,755 for the base Active trim and goes up to $54,260 for the high-performance ST trim.

The 2025 Explorer delivers impressive power with two engine options. The standard 2.3L EcoBoost I-4 engine generates 300 horsepower, while the 3.0L twin-turbocharged EcoBoost V6 churns out 400 horsepower. The 3.0L comes standard on the ST trim, with availability on the Platinum trim as an upgrade. Every Explorer features a 10-speed automatic transmission for smooth shifting, and available all-wheel drive enhances traction on any terrain.

Six selectable drive modes—Normal, Eco, Sport, Tow/Haul, Slippery, and Off-Road—allow you to customize performance based on road conditions. With the available Class III Trailer Tow Package, the Explorer can tow up to 5,000 pounds. Additional features like side-wind stabilization, Trailer Sway Control, and Hill Descent Control provide extra confidence when hauling heavy loads.
